The camp borders the south western flank of the Moremi Game Reserve, and is in a private concession.
Nxabega accommodates only 18 guests, in exclusive tented suites, which are set around the floodplain. Shade is given by canopies of ebony trees. The tents are all on raised platforms (with veranda), and are en suite.
Nxabega’s (meaning ‘place of the giraffe’) main lodge area comprises the lounge and dining room. In addition, there is an extensive viewing deck, complete with swimming pool. The main area, deck and pool all allow for some beautiful vistas across the floodplain. There is also space for al fresco dining, and a camp fire. At Nxabega, you can enjoy bush picnics in surprise settings, breakfast in bed, lamp lit cocktails on a river island, or a walking safari with picnic.
Nxabega offers morning and afternoon/ evening game drives, allowing for some excellent game viewing opportunities. The drives that extend into the evening include the use of a spot light, allowing you the chance to see some of the fascinating night life.
You also have the chance to participate on guided bush walks, which is an excellent way of learning more about the bush, and also allows for some excellent birding. The camp also offers mokoro (dug-out) excursions – an excellent, and tranquil way, of exploring. There is also option of a boat excursion. The water-borne activities are seasonal, and are generally offered from June to September.
Nxabega: great lodge too. We also had a great time. Very friendly and competent staff and guides.
