Chief’s Camp can be found on the north-western tip of Chief’s Island, in the exclusive Mombo Concession - considered the 'predator capital of Africa'. This is a seasonal delta area, with the floodwaters entering the area in June or July, and lasting some 4 to 5 months. It is also an area known for excellent game viewing - reputedly

Guests are accommodated in 12 luxury ‘bush pavilions’, each of which features a thatched roof, spacious seating area, en-suite facilities (complete with indoor and outdoor shower), private game viewing deck with hammock and deck chairs. The four-poster bed has a generous mosquito net, and there is a ceiling fan, and mini-bar in your suite.
The main area of the Camp houses the lounge, bar, dining area, library, and extensive viewing deck, all of which is sent under a canopy of shade giving trees. There is a split-level viewing deck, with the lower section housing the swimming pool. In high season, you can also enjoy spa treatments offered in the poolside treatment Sala.
The area is explored on extensive game drives, which are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon. Game viewing is diverse, as in addition to the chance of seeing rhino (both black, and white species), there are wild dog, lion, cheetah and leopard in the area, along with an abundance of plains game. In high season, with the increased water levels, there are also mokoro (dug-outs) excursions, where you get to explore the waterways of the delta.
